For my final review, I came across Shelly Fryer's blog titled "Technology Skill 101 for Teachers". This post is incredible, and is a great example of a exemplary review like I have been writing each week for class! In this post, Shelly expresses the importance of the National A Plus Schools Essentials, which include: Arts, Curriculum, Experiential Learning, Multiple Learning Pathways, Enriched Assessment, Collaboration, Infrastructure, and Climate. This post was interesting to me, because it contains great ideas of how teachers can incorporate technology in their own classrooms. Technology is something that every teacher should be using every day, especially in this new generation. Using technology really helps teachers to connect with their students, and Shelly really expresses this in her post. Shelly mentions how it is our job as teachers to provide students with technology to learn, install the apps that they need, and teach them how to use them so that it becomes an every day routine. It is the teachers job to encourage the students to use the technology, and help them to explore the many technology learning resources that are out there.
One thing that I really loved about Shelly and her post, was how her passion for teaching was very clear, even in the first few sentences. She also has an extreme passion for technology, and using it to connect with her students and their parents. She has a class website, a class Youtube channel, and even a class radio show which I had never heard of before! She gave me a lot of ideas of resources to use, and provided examples of lessons her own students have created. It was very cool to be able to take a look inside someone else's classroom, and learn from them. I will definitely be utilizing the technology that Shelly mentioned, and visiting her blog and reading more posts in the future!
